Tom brings unique executive accomplishments
and skills to his work as a consultant. In 1980 he co-founded
a company, Community Psychology and Education Services (CPES),
a pioneering organization in the field of developmental disabilities
and mental illness. After successfully competing for numerous
contracts and demonstration grants, Tom led the transformation
of CPES to a 100% employee-owned company in 1995, with a strong
emphasis on service quality, an ownership culture and financial
success. By 2004 CPES had grown from its original two employees
and $70,000 budget to a $22M company with over 700 employees.
Numerous “best practices” awards, with national
recognition have followed. At the time Tom left CPES it was
one of the top 100 employee-owned companies in the United
States.
Tom lives in the mountains north
of Tucson, with his wife Mary Lou, and a cast of Boxers, as
well as assorted desert critters that pass through. He is
